Root Canals

Specialized root canal training allows us, in most cases, to treat a root canal in just a single visit. It's a great alternative to traditional multi-visit procedures.

Bridges

Bridges may be the best answer for those that have seriously damaged or missing teeth. Those black lines at your gum line and opaque crowns are a thing of the past. We use the most advanced materials and techniques available to provide you with a metal free smile that is more aesthetically pleasing than ever before.

Dentures

Dentures are removable prosthetic devices designed to replace missing teeth. Removable prosthodontics includes replacing missing teeth with appliances that the patients themselves can take in and out of their mouth, such as dentures and partial dentures. Fixed prosthodontics includes replacing missing and/or broken teeth with restorations that the patient cannot remove, such as veneers, crowns, bridges, and implants.

Oral Surgery

Dr. Thornton has the training of a hospital residency, implant dentistry, wisdom tooth extraction, gum surgery, sedation and advanced surgical techniques of cosmetic dentistry. She has the skills, facilities and experience to perform any necessary surgical procedures.

Periodontal Surgery

The main cause of periodontal (gum) disease is bacteria in the form of a sticky, colorless plaque that constantly forms on your teeth; however, many other factors can cause periodontal disease or influence its progression. Surgery may be necessary if Dr. Thornton determines that the tissue around your teeth is unhealthy and cannot be repaired with non-surgical treatment.

Children's Dentistry

Dr. Thornton makes it fun for the whole family to visit the dentist. Not only will your child receive the most advanced and esthetic care available for children, they will be nurtured with positive experiences that will set them up for a lifetime of beautiful smiles.

Digital X-Rays: As one of the most advanced techniques used in the industry, digital X-rays provide Dr. Thornton with an instant image from the inside of your mouth, rather than having to wait for film to be processed. This digital development allows us to see the full picture when it comes to your oral health, and we can compare you current X-rays to ones taken in previous years.

Implant Crowns: Dental implant crowns are implemented when a patient has several missing teeth replaced, and will look and feel like any other natural tooth would. Our team uses only the most advanced techniques and procedures to restore your smile today.

Crowns: One of many options for restoring a perfect smile, a crown is placed over a tooth, helping to restore its size or shape. Aside from the aesthetic appeal, a crown can give a damaged tooth back its strength.

Bridges: As part of the effort to build you a better smile, bridges may be involved. Bridges are one or more false teeth in a row, held in place by crowned teeth on either side.

Root Canals: Sometimes, when a tooth has had extensive nerve damage, a root canal may be necessary. In this procedure, the nerve itself is removed and replaced, and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed. Some of the signs you may need a root canal include: severe toothache, sensitivity to hot and cold, discoloration of the tooth, among others.

Extractions: In the instance a tooth cannot be restored, an extraction may be necessary. Whether it is tooth decay or your wisdom teeth, Dr. Thornton has the knowledge and experience necessary to perform these procedures, getting you well on your way to a brighter smile.

Partials: Partials refer to a removable partial denture, which is used when a patient requires replacement teeth, yet allows the patient to remove and reinsert the denture itself. This may be necessary when the patient cannot have a bridge implanted.

Dentures: Dentures are used when a patient requires a complete set of artificial teeth. They have conventionally been removable, although advancements as of late allow doctors such as Dr. Thornton to surgically implant immoveable options.

Invisalign: Much more aesthetically-appealing than conventional braces, Invisalign is intended for older teens and adults, and realigns teeth using custom clear aligners. Their removable nature makes them the perfect choice for those looking correct their teeth without the commitment of traditional braces.

Snore Guards: Snoring can be one of the most disruptive things to you or your partner’s sleep. Restless nights are a thing of the past with Snore Guards, however, which aligns your jaw in a position to clear and open your airway.

Periodontal Therapy: Periodontal therapy is a non-surgical procedure that removes plaque and harmful bacteria from your mouth in order to best fight and prevent gum disease. If Dr. Thornton determines surgery is not necessary, periodontal therapy may be the best route to explore.

One-Hour Whitening: When it comes to your smile, it is always important that it looks the whitest it can be. With a one-hour whitening procedure, you can work towards just that. A whitening gel is applied to your teeth and just one hour later – you leave with a brighter, whiter smile.

Bleaching Trays: With so much that can stain our teeth, bleaching is sometimes needed to restore a glowing white smile. Dr. Thornton uses only the latest and safest techniques and procedures when it comes to teeth bleaching.
